In The Company of Heroes - David Hall
This book is a bit dry. I loved it when I read it, but having now read others I now know what else is out there and this wouldn't be my first choice. This is a more old-fashioned approach to start-up, the MBA-with-diagrams-and-abbreviations approach, so you may find your accountant or banker advises you to read it. (Actually, they'll never have heard of it. But they would if they had!)
It is packed with examples, but in places this is a negative as there are so many it isn't clear exactly what you're learning. It does cover a wide range if stuff, so if you feel you really don't have a clue it would not be a bad idea. (However, I bet you know more than you think if you put your mind to it.) If that is the case, bear in mind there are a lot of diagrams and all the other psuedo-scientific business rubbish in here which you might not understand in any event.
