Established in 2011, Inspirate has produced a plethora of arts festivals and events, delivering culturally dynamic experiences to audiences from across the UK.
After growing our organisation over the last decade, Inspirate is at a pivotal moment in its journey. Having recently delivered our Elevate programme to strengthen Inspirate's governance and resilience, we have been awarded £250,000 per annum from Arts Council England until March 2026. This NPO investment brings new horizons, opportunities and responsibilities as a diverse-led organisation based in Leicester.
Our National Portfolio plans consist of producing ground-breaking events in new cities, revitalising the biggest Diwali celebration outside of India, strengthening international collaborations across Britain and South Asia, and cementing Inspirate's position as a leading beacon of diverse arts in the UK. Our flagship project, An Indian Summer, is one of the country's leading South Asian festivals and shares the subcontinent’s culture through contemporary experiences, exploring multi-disciplinary arts through a 21st century lens.

About The Role
We are looking for a new Vice-Chair who can oversee and guide Inspirate's Executive Team in delivering our strategic aims over the coming 3 years. We would like the new Non Executive Director to have experience in running a successful NPO. Due to our diversity policy and to strengthen our current board, we are looking to recruit someone from a global majority background who identifies as female or non-binary. The successful person will play an instrumental role in supporting our ambitious 3-year strategy.
